Standings

A-Race Standings Change

At the halfway point in the league, Niall Somers (Team WORC) now leads the Men’s A-Race standings by 26 points. Frank McDermott (Oldcastle CC) moves up to second place. Johnny McCabe (Cuchulainn CC) in back on the podium in third.

Richie Fell (Team WORC) slips from first place to fourth place, as he didn’t race this weekend. Richie will be hoping his strong results will be a factor later as we score on the best 6 of 8 rounds.

In the Unplaced M40s, Chris Byrne (Park Wheelers) seen his lead cut by 12 points by Evan Ryan (Team WORC). Although Ronan O’Flynn (Orwell Wheelers) was the biggest gainer this week courtesy of his second place. Frank McDermott may drop into the Unplaced M40 ranks if he is knocked off the podium.

In the Unplaced M50, Fearghal Regan (Kilcullen Cycling Club Murphy Geospatial) looks to be in pole position. Similar to the M40s, Johnny McCabe is on the podium, and could come into the reckoning if he is displaced. Gerard O’Donnell (IMBRC) will also be a man to watch as the Best 6 of 8 rounds are brought into consideration. Gerard’s head-to-head results have been similar to Fearghal’s this season.

B-Race Standings Change

Jude Joseph Roche (South Dublin CC) retains top spot. Ronan Kearney (EPIC MTB/Expert Cycles) moves up to second. Colum O’Doherty (Park Wheelers) occupies third.

Although both men will have to overhaul the points tally of promoted riders Lukasz Oleksiewicz (Team WORC) and Ben Malone (Unattached), with four rounds remaining, this should be possible.

We’ll be promoting the B-Race Podium Riders every week. The normal indicator of a B-Racer is finishing them 2 laps down in the A-Race regularly.

Women’s Race Standing Change

As has been the case since the opening round, Stephanie Roche (Scott Quanta Racing) retains top place. Stephanie’s lead is now 55 points. Doireann Killeen (Orwell Wheelers) keeps her second place. Although, Niamh Stephens (Team Giant Dublin) cuts Doireann’s advantage to just 6 points.

Mary Dawson holds Unplaced Master position and fourth place. Helen White (Stamullen RC) is two points behind and also in fifth place. Laura Banfield (McNally Swords CC) is 21 points behind but could still come into the reckoning.

Ellen Murray (TC Racing) retains the Unplaced Junior and moves up to sixth place overall. Annie Roche (Scott Quanta Racing) cut Ellen’s lead by, and to, 13 points this Sunday. Katie Reilly (Orwell Wheelers) is de facto third junior, as Hanna McClorey (Racescene FDA) is unlikely to return to the Leinster League due to commitments in the UK. Katie elected to race in Ulster this weekend, and got second place in the Omagh round.

Underage Standings Change

The Underage Series continues to reward consistency.

The U16 Boys standings has Callum McCaffrey (Cuchulainn CC) still on top. Cillian Fox (Navan RC) leapfrogs from fourth to second. Tim Cronin (Navan Road Club) remains in third.

In the U16s Girls, Faith Robinson (Bray Wheelers) leads for a third week in a row. Mya Doocey (Navan Road Club) is in second place. Greta Lawless (Team WORC) moves up to third place.

In the U14 Boys, Rian McCrystal (Bellurgan Wheelers) finishes his climb through the rankings, and sits atop of the pile. Jack Woods (Carlow) is in second, 9 points behind. Daithi Killeen (Orwell Wheelers) moves up to third.

The U14 Girls sees Holly McCaffrey (Cuchulainn CC) still in first place. Grace O’Rourke (Cuchulainn CC) is in second. Emer Heverin (Kinning Cycles) retains third. Ffion Dolan (Cuchulainn CC) is the week’s big mover as she is in fourth place, 4 points behind Emer.

The U12 Boys leader, Eoin Davis (Bohermeen CC) extends his lead over everyone courtesy of his victory. James Cunningham (Orwell Wheelers CC) holds onto second despite opting to race in Ulster this weekend. Noah Byrne (Carlow RCC) moves onto the third step of the podium.

The U12 Girls, has Katie Turner (Orwell Wheelers) still in the lead and extends her lead to 30 points. Eire McCrystal (Bellurgan Wheelers), in second, has a 99 point buffer to third place. Naoise Byrne (Carlow RCC) moves up to third.

Current Standings

We’re halfway through the season. Things will get more interesting in the later rounds, when the Best Six of Eight rounds are taken into account on the last day of the season. The Leinster CX Champs will not be counted in the Series Standings like they were in 2019.
